Harmony Sweeps followup

We went, we sang, we celebrated. Lots of good feedback from the judges and a wonderful time seeing old friends and making new ones.

Whoo hoo!

(O Holy Night ala N’ Sync, rehearsal cut 12/2017)

Whelp – we wrapped up a very successful holiday season with a gig at Blacksburg’s Farmer’s Market, where we were received with lots of applause.  The evening before, our concert at Warm Hearth Village went of swimmingly and we were rewarded with a photo with Santa and homemade cookies!  We’re taking a break to rest, travel, and enjoy the holidays with our other families, but we’ll be back and running in January!  Blessed Yule, Merry Christmas, Joyous Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukah, and lovely, warm holidays to all of you from all of us!

Wrapping up summer and heading into fall

This July we got to sing the national anthem at a Salem Redsox game, (note the Christmas in July theme).

KP waiting to sing national anthem at Salem Red Sox Game, July 207.

In August, we  (mostly) reassembled to have a great time at reCALibrate (aka aca-camp) and were the group there that had the most members in attendance. (Jesse was busy buying a house, so he didn’t come.  Go figure!)

4 of 5 KP members at reCALibrate, 2017.

Now we’re diving in the fall and winter rep with a vengeance. On the horizon – possible ch-ch-ch-ch-anges.

Happy Holidays!!

We’ve got several chances for you to catch us between now and mid-December.

Next Friday evening, 12/9, we ‘re marching and singing in the Christiansburg holiday parade.

On Saturday 12/10, we’ll be at the Blacksburg Farmers Market from about 10 – noon, at the NRV Mall from noon – 2ish, and the Valley View Mall in Roanoke from 2ish – 4.

We’ll also be making pop-up appearances hither and yon, so keep an eye out!

We came, we saw, we …

No, we didn’t win, but we had a fantastic time at MidAtlantic Sweeps last weekend with PBC and our new friends from Catatonic, Halo, The Lobby, Stiletta, and Orfeia, not to mention Mike Why and the crew at the Birchmere.  We got our first competition under our belts without any casualties and we got some good feedback from Jonathan Minkoff, producer of the SingStrong competition and member of Blue Jupiter.  We should be getting some video footage of our performance from a reporter and written feedback from the competition judges in the near future, too.

Also, thanks in part to an impromptu post-comp rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody as we celebrated at the afterglow, we may have booked a big Christmas gig already.  (Stay tuned – we’ll give details as things solidify.)

On Sunday we got to go out and play with PBC, Catatonic, Halo, and Mike Why again, this time at Jammin’ Java in Vienna, VA.  I hadn’t really gotten to hear Catatonic’s chops the night before, but this time around I had a seat in the house and holy cow! can those folks sing!  It’s no surprise they won sweeps last year.   The performers rocked, fun was had by all, and we still made it back to Blacksburg before dark.  Not bad for around 36 hours all told.
