and your viewing pleasure.:
We’ve got several chances for you to catch us between now and mid-December.
Next Friday evening, 12/9, we ‘re marching and singing in the Christiansburg holiday parade.
On Saturday 12/10, we’ll be at the Blacksburg Farmers Market from about 10 – noon, at the NRV Mall from noon – 2ish, and the Valley View Mall in Roanoke from 2ish – 4.
We’ll also be making pop-up appearances hither and yon, so keep an eye out!
We had great auditions last night for new altos and tenors. Thanks to all those who participated – we loved singing with you and we’ll letting you know the outcome soon.
In the meantime, we’re still on the hunt for an advanced beatboxer/VP and a low bass singer. Get in touch if you’re interested or know of someone who might be the perfect addition(s) to our goofy crew.
Best wishes back up in the NE, Richard, to you and your family!
As a side note, what do you think of “bass-less accusations” as a new group name? 😉
That’s right! King’s Post is looking for new members. Most urgently, we’re hunting for a VP/beatboxer extraordinaire. However, we’re also searching for a mellifluous alto/mezzo and a rockin’ high tenor, so if you are or know a “permanent resident” in the Blacksburg/Christiansburg/New River Valley, VA area who would like to join in the zany fun, give us a shout.
You can email us at email@example.com.
Yep – the remaining members of King’s Post (Eric, Jennifer, Jordan, and Richard) have a guest spot in New River Stage’s musical production of “The Kinds Left, The Dog Died, Now What?” at the Warm Hearth Village Center Theater. Come out to see a zany version of what happens when you become a person “of a certain age,” including wrestling with new technology, dating again, and the first appearance of AARP-mail in your postbox. Last Sunday sold out and then some, so get your tickets soon!
So,”the kids” are married and off to life in the big apple. Best wishes to you, Christine and Karl, on the next phase of your adventure. We’ll miss you!
Well, due to the unavailability of two group members, we had to miss the chance to sing at the National Christmas Tree Lighting this year. But that’s ok – it just gives us more time to prep for next year. 🙂 We did have the chance to do a bit of caroling at Blacksburg Public Library last night after the town tree lighting.
In the meantime, we’ve finally posted some video from our gig in Smith Mountain Lake this fall, plus our audition video for the tree lighting. Enjoy!
We’re charging forward into preparations for the holiday season, and this is a Very Good Thing since we’ve just been invited to sing in the pre-show for the lighting of the National Christmas Tree Lighting!
Our fearless mezzo/alto Christine has been shipped off for a few weeks (minimum) to train for her day job, so KP is currently a five voice group. We’re still looking for more people to join our merry band – especially high tenors, altos, and VPs – but in the meantime the five of us are having fun re-arranging music on the fly and pulling together our next round of tunes.
Speaking of tunes, keep an eye out on our YouTube page for video from our September gig at Smith Mountain Lake and other events.
